Hip 96, an Uncle Mo colt, works an eighth in: 9 3/5 seconds at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale.

Monday’s show for the selected Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream sale of 2-year-olds in training saw the fastest time over an eighth of a mile since the auction moved to Gulfstream Park in 2015.

The time was set by Hip 96, a colt of Uncle Mo who stopped the clock in :9 3/5 seconds, eclipsing the previous record of :9 4/5 seconds, set five times.

The bay colt is out of the winning mare Elusive Quality Brusquer, whose first foal to run is a winner. Brusquer is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner and commercial stallion Tapit, which also places this colt in a family that includes champions Rubiano and Summer Bird, outstanding sire Glitterman and Grade 2 winner Madefromlucky.

Wavertree Stables consigned the colt bred in Kentucky, as an agent.

Two other colts managed an eighth in:9 4/5 seconds on Monday.

Hip 62 is a colt out of winning mare Fusaichi Pegasus Soul Crusader, whose three foals to run are all winners, including There Goes Harvard, by Will Take Charge. The California-bred colt comes from the family of Grade 1 winners Killer Graces and Killer Ability, and Grade 2 winner Chocolate Ride.

Classic Bloodstock entrusts Hip 62, as an agent.

Hip 100 is a first generation City of Light colt out of Dixie Union placed mare Cool Flame. His third dam is multiple Grade 1 winner Raging Fever, which puts him in the extended family of Grade 3 winner Stormin Fever and Grade 3 winner Roaring Fever, both of whom are sires.

Top Line Sales consigns the foal, as an agent.

Monday’s best time at a quarter mile came from Hip 48, a first generation Bolt d’Oro filly who crossed the line in: 20 2/5 seconds.

The bay filly is out of the winning mare Not For Love Rich Love, whose four foals to run are all winners. The Kentucky-bred filly page features Year 1 winner Bounding Basque and Year 2 winner Northern Soldier.
