Special focus on Arabian horses at a desert exhibition

A spotlight is on the Arabian horse breed at the annual Abu Dhabi show later this year, with sales, exhibitions and other special features included.
In partnership with the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, or ADIHEX, the Emirates Arabian Horse Association (EAHS) offers several special features for horse lovers of all ages.
The association will showcase the breed’s history and origins and hold an auction of up to 30 Arabian racehorses, and there will also be Desert Arabian Horse lectures, a photo gallery of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a display of show champions, and rare heritage items on Arabian horses. Another exhibition area will show Arabian saddles, and there is a corner for live drawing sessions of the Arabian horse.
ADIHEX was established in 2003 and focuses on preserving heritage sports and authentic traditions in the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest hunting, riding and heritage preservation exhibition in the Middle East.
Arabian horses are an essential and central sector of the show and have been linked to authentic Arabian values since antiquity. They are a symbol of chivalry, courage in life, poetry and pride in the Arabian Peninsula. The Arabian horse is characterized by its strength, beauty, speed and great patience, as well as its ability to withstand hunger and thirst and adapt to hot weather.
With obedience, familiarity, loyalty and due to its characteristics and breed purity, it has been used to impart good and desirable qualities to most breeds of horses in the world.
For decades, the people of the Emirates have been known for their interest in horses as one of the most important elements of connection with Arab values.
Over the ages, this interest has developed to be linked to national identity and authenticity of belonging by knowing the ancient races which, in their lineage, have returned to Arab origins.

Sheikh Zayed is credited with introducing Arabian racing to France in 1994. It started at Chantilly and has since moved to other racecourses in Europe.
Membership and interest in thoroughbred Arabian horses being one of the most essential pillars of Arab heritage and values, Sheikh Zayed was keen to organize, assist and encourage these races.
The 19th edition of ADIHEX, organized by Emirates Falconers’ Club, takes place from September 26 to October 2, 2022, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
More than 680 exhibitors and brands are expected to present the latest technologies, innovations and trends in equestrian, hunting and camping equipment and accessories, as well as traditional and modern hunting methods.
