Although apparently a lower rung than Book 1 of Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Book 2 this week has a rich history of showcasing future talent, with Addeybb, Ebro River, Lady Bowthorpe, State Of Rest, Subjectivist and Zaaki all making other entries. on the top tier honor roll this year, and most international buyers will be staying to review individuals, including the eye-catching lots below.
Lot 577 Gr c Dark Angel-Futoon (consigned by Grangemore Stud)
Guy O’Callaghan’s farm had extraordinary returns from Futoon, a winning and high performing double Kodiac mare bought for 100,000 gns, when she produced 140,000 gns of her first foal in that same sale there is 12 months.
It turned out to be Wings Of War, which won the Mill Reef Stakes in Newbury for Clive Cox just a few weeks ago.
Lot 757 B c Cracksman-Mondelice (Taroka Stud)
François Drion’s Kildare nursery brings three yearlings to this sale and there haven’t been many more exciting updates than with this one, especially with his sire making a big impression with his first harvest offered the last week.
The never-before-seen mare Mondelice, a granddaughter of Damson, produced six-figure sums from her first two foals in the ring, led by this month’s Dollar Prize winner Dubai Honor, who looks set for the most. high company before the 2021 release.
Lot 768 B / Gr f Galileo-Mrs Danvers (Manister House Stud)
Buyers have repeated the mantra that there won’t be too many Galileos coming to market, and this one is quite rare as its only representative in Book 2.
The filly is the result of the second of three visits to the late Superstar Coolmore by Ms. Danvers, the ragged sprinter to wealth nurtured by Jonathan Portman who has enjoyed a two-year unbeaten season.

Lot 952 – B c Roaring Lion-Seychelloise (Staffordstown Stud)
The appetite for Roaring Lion’s single crop has been solid if not spectacular, but among his 16 entries there is one with real potential.
Offered by Kirsten Rausing via Staffordstown Stud, he comes from one of the owner-breeder’s cherished families as a half-brother to Sandrine, winner of Albany and the Duchess of Cambridge and third in Cheveley Park, as well as the double scorer Sea The Shells.
Lot 1036 – B c Gleneagles – Swirral Edge (Redpender Stud)
Redpender, a select Kilkenny operation run by Jimmy Murphy, has been linked to some very intelligent two-year-olds over the years, including Canford Cliffs and Toormore.
His last flag bearer was Asymmetric, first sold for 65,000 gns here last November and now winner of the Richmond Stakes, while the recent rise in fortune of Gleneagles, father of his half-brother, has certainly helped his prospects more.
Lot 1182 – Br c Adaay-Arcamist (Culworth Grounds)
But for a twist of fate, this one could have a Group 1 half-brother on his resume as his brother Dragon Symbol was distressingly hit in the Commonwealth Cup and placed in three more sprints of high level.
Just days after Dragon Symbol made its successful racetrack debut in March, Freddy Tylicki signed for his younger brother for just ⬠10,500 in the second leg of the February Goffs sale, a sum that now appears to be a good deal.
Book 2 runs Monday through Wednesday this week, with sessions starting at 10am each day, and you can read the catalog here. Volumes 3 and 4 continue until Saturday.
