Kaul: Leaked SCOTUS abortion advisory ‘significant setback to reproductive freedoms for Americans’

MILWAUKEE — Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul reaffirms his assertion that state law enforcement resources will not be used to prosecute abortion providers if the SCOTUS ruling overturning Roe V. Wade becomes law .
“Each investigative agency has to decide where its resources go,” Kaul said. “I think it’s important to be clear with the people of Wisconsin on my priorities and where I think they should go and from my perspective they should go to serious crimes like drug trafficking and Internet crimes against children, not an abortion ban.”
Kaul told WTMJ’s Steve Scaffidi that he doesn’t consider continuing abortions a legitimate use of state resources, “I think that would be a bad use of state resources.”
Wisconsin has a law on the books, written in 1849, which prohibits abortions at all levels. As written, the law does not include exceptions for rape or incest and does not allow a grace period for women who find out they are pregnant to have an abortion.
During the nearly 15-minute interview, Kaul and Scaffidi also discussed the ongoing election investigation currently being led by former state Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman and the “Safer Wisconsin Plan.” ” from the GA. You can listen to the full interview in the player above.
