Get ready for Qatar’s biggest Arabian horse festival – Doha News

The festival is offering a whopping QAR16 million cash prizes for the lucky winners.
Are you passionate about horseback riding? If so, you’ll want to mark your schedule for this year’s Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF).
The world-class event will be held under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar from February 2-6, 2022 and in partnership with the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club and the Qatar Equestrian Federation.
It aims to promote “the uniqueness of purebred Arabian horses on various local and international platforms,” ââKatara said in a statement.

Horses have long been an integral part of Gulf culture and thousands of people take great pride in presenting their premier horse collections to the public. Horse prices can easily reach a million dollars, depending on the breed and its characteristics.
The festival will feature various programs that promise a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all viewers, including what is described as a magical Arabian Peninsula horse show from February 3-5, an Arabian horse auction on February 7, and a horse show. titles from February 9 to 12.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the following three competition categories:
⢠Yearlings (1 year): Prizes are 250,000 QR for first place, 150,000 QR for second and 100,000 QR for third.
⢠Junior (2 -3 years old): 800,000 QR for first place, 430,000 QR for second and 250,000 QR for third.
⢠Senior (4 years and over): 1,000,000 QR for first place, 600,000 QR for second and 300,000 QR for third.
Registration begins for the 13th Qatar Marmi Festival
A panel of 11 judges will assess the classes, rotating in groups of nine. Horses will be judged on the basis of five criteria including type, head and neck, body and topline, limbs and movement.
Meanwhile, the âbestâ auction aims to offer horse owners, breeders and horse enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase top quality purebred Arabian horses.
Registration for the festival has started and will remain open until December 31, Katara said.
