The reproduction rate of the coronavirus indicates the average number of people that a sick person can infect. This is one of the criteria to consider when it comes to lifting the restrictions put in place in the spring to prevent the spread of infection. The country’s authorities take particular account of the reproduction rate of the coronavirus when making decisions on the resumption of international flights. According to the Russian health watchdog, it is possible to reopen the country’s border to foreign nationals in case their country’s coronavirus reproduction rates remain at or below 1 for a week.
