Making his first career start on Wednesday for owner Whisper Hill Farm is I’M LOST (Medaglia d’Oro), a 3-year-old bought by Mandy Pope for $1.1 million from Denali Stud in the September 2020 yearling sale at Keeneland. The striking bay filly is out of the GSP mare Distorted Humor Baffled, making her a half sister to GIW and current sire Winstar Constitution (Tapit) with respective graduate stake winners Jacaranda (Congrats) and Boynton (More ThanReady). Baffled herself, a half-sister to MGIW Emcee (Unbridled’s Song), brought in $3.5 million on a final offer from Bridlewood Farm and Don Alberto Corp. at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Mixed Autumn Sale full of Tapit and the success of the career Constitution race. Three years later, Don Alberto Corp. would buy her full of Medaglia d’Oro for $1.8 million in the 2019 Fasig-Tipton mixed fall sale. Trainer Ralph Nicks had I’m Baffled working out regularly at Gulfstream Park in preparation for his debut , including her most recent preparation where she covered four furlongs in: 47 4/5 on March 13 to be eighth fastest over 65 in the distance. Leading stallion Medaglia d’Oro achieves around 11% winners among early starters and has released such successful fillies as champion Songbird and horse of the year Rachel Alexandra. I’m baffled bring Lasix here and take Tyler Gaffalione for his career debut doing a mile on the dirt. TJCIS PP
